She loves kids, and people.; and finally, Jagger, or SPECIAL REY DUAL, our stud horse. He is starting his show career with non-pro Reined Cow horse Rider, Shayne Morrison. We will only allow a maximum of 5 to 8 boarders onsite.
Our Story & Our Dream (come true)...

The Crosshair Ranch was born out of a love for animals, particularly horses! We also have registered Brahman cattle (very small herd), Registered American Miniature Horses, chickens and registered American Quarter Horses. In 2020, we are entering the competitive world, as we have our very special stud horse, name Special Rey Dual (Jagger) who we planned would go to the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity in 2021! God had other plans, and Jagger got severely injured. Today, he is perfectly sound and is a non-pro horse who competes in the Stock Horse of Texas and other non-pro organizations.

In January 2022, we had the privilege of meeting and purchasing a gorgeous, sweet and talented bay stallion, whose name at that time was "TS All the Way Bay", bred by Robbie Thigpen. We bought the gorgeous AQHA registered stallion and he became our very first horse to compete in the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity. Soon after purchasing him, we renamed him to reflect all that he is -- HiCaliber Cat. He is by the beloved and beyond amazing High Brow Cat and out of SFR Magic Doll (x Abracadabracre). HiCaliber Cat's barn name is MACHO, and he is in training with talented horseman, Clayton Edsall.

MACHO's first Derby years were a time of learning and getting comfortable in the show pen. He won approximately $7K by his four-year old year. As a five-year old (2024) he has come into his own with Clayton, who owns Edsall Performance Horses, making him the best version of himself. The two (as of June 2024) have won over $75K in just five months, and his last derby year isn't over yet!

This year (2024) we bred MACHO to two of our mares, and to five other mares owned by friends and acquaintances who also believe in Macho. We are so excited to see his first babies on the ground in 2025. Will MACHO pass on his talent to his babies, as his dad, mom and maternal grandpa have to him? WE BELIEVE --- YES, HE WILL! We are beyond excited!
When we started this journey we never could have dreamed that we would have the pleasure to care for horses for others, and own a horse that shows in the NRCHA! So to all we meet, we say chase your dreams ... you never know where they will take you!
As you can see, horses are our passion. Learning how to feed, care for, selectively breed, and handle these amazing animals in a way that brings out the very, very best in them is our goal every day. If you trust us with your horse(s), you will not be disappointed!
