A Little More About Macho ...
There is so much to tell about this special stallion! First, a little trivia -- his original registered name was "TS ALL THE WAY BAY", given to him by his amazing breeder who is well known in the world of cutting, and in cow horse circles in general, Mr. Robbie Thigpen. His barn name, Macho, was given to him during his time as a two-year old with Travis Stewart and his team, and it fits him to a "tee"! Crosshair Ranch bought the gorgeous bay stallion January of 2022. From the moment we met him, we knew he was something special. Clayton Edsall began training Macho in October of 2022, and since then they have built a bond that is evident every time you see them together.
Macho and Clayton have finished in the top five of every NRCHA show they have competed from March 2024 to the end of the 2024 show season. The pair earned their very first championship at the WILD RAG in July 2024, and another at the RENO SNAFFLE BIT FUTURITY OPEN DERBY in September 2024.
With an LTE that continues to climb in the NRCHA, we are thrilled to see the heights that Clayton Edsall and Macho will continue to soar to!
It was after laying down an impressive go-round high score of 224.5 in the herd work at the 2024 Tres Osos Open Derby, Clayton had this to say about Macho, "I've always thought he was extremely talented. He's probably as talented of a horse as I've ever rode. He's really easy to get along with." Clayton also compliments Macho on his "cowy-ness", "That horse is extremely cowy and extremely fast to cross a cow." HiCaliber Cat, MACHO, has the heart and the athleticism of a champion. He is a quiet, smart, agile, eager to please, athletic horse who loves to work and is an own son of the famous High Brow Cat. His Dam is out of the amazing Bob Acre Doc lineage, and his grandfather is Abrakadabracre (1998) who was ridden by Cookie Banuelos and is famous for his cutting moves, earning more than $112K+ in his day! His genetic matchup is nothing short of extraordinary, and we look forward to him showing off his talent in the show pen!
Macho comes from a family of champions. He is sure to pass his athleticism and great mind on through his offspring. Keep a close eye on this young stallion as he moves into his bridle years!
